How a conviction became a company
Every finance department knows this moment. The numbers are ready, but no one fully trusts them. The month-end close is done, but at a cost no one talks about. And the knowledge that matters lives in a few people’s heads and in even more spreadsheets.
Sascha Lübow-Westendorf has experienced this moment many times. In medium-sized businesses and large corporations, in investment controlling at a holding company, and while digitalising an entire finance function. The conclusion was always the same: it was rarely the people. It was the systems they had to work with.
2022: The beginning
On 1 November 2022, he founded Pentalink Consulting. There was no grand stage and no fanfare. There was one consultant and a clear conviction: anyone responsible for numbers deserves data they can rely on.
The first engagements did not come through advertising. They came through recommendations from people who had seen what changes when data finally becomes dependable. One project led to the next, and eventually to more than seventeen.
2025: From “I” to “we”
At some point, a conviction becomes a responsibility — to clients and to what lies ahead. On 25 July 2025, Pentalink Consulting GmbH was entered in the commercial register, and the business operations were transferred to it in full.
A few days later, in August 2025, the first employee joined. It was a small step on paper and a big shift in identity: Pentalink was no longer a one-person venture. It was a team.
2026: Grown, not changed
By mid-2026, five people work permanently at Pentalink. Five perspectives, five worlds of experience, and the same question as on day one: What does a finance department need to trust its own numbers again?
We have grown. Our ambition has stayed the same. Because sound financial decisions do not begin with a dashboard. They begin with trust in your own numbers.
